Sciatica for father!

Hey, my father is having constant pain in his right leg. The pain radiates down the leg into the foot and toes. The pain worsens when sitting. He always says that he has a burning feeling in his leg.
When we consulted our doctor, after a long examination he said that my father is suffering from Sciatica. The doctor said that it happened because the herniated disc in the spine presses the nerve.
The doctor gave him an anti-inflammatory drug to get a quick relief. He asked him to do some physical exercise which my father felt so much difficulty to do. He is not doing any exercise now. He says that it is worsening his condition.
I heard that chiropractic treatments work in this case. Is it right?
I am planning to take him to a chiropractic treatment center in Mississauga. Will it be useful? Has anyone faced any related kind of situation in your elder ones? If so, what did you at that time?

Sciatic nerve is the biggest in the whole body.

If it gets stretched or compressed over time, there's not a whole lot that can be done.

Chiropractice can give relief, working the muscles around the nerve to ease the compression / stretching, but it's not a cure.

Best thing I can recommend (Yes, I get it too sometimes) is to watch out for posture when in waking life, and ESPECIALLY - posture while sleeping.

When I sleep with legs curled up and knees together, I'm usually in agony within 10 minutes. Unless I get my sleeping position "just so".

So, yes, chiropractice will help, and it will be good for him to get advice from qualified experts on dealing with the condition.

Nerve damage sucks. Very slow to heal. :(
Beware virii that hide in signatures. Nasty, nasty hackers out there. Usually they appear in Personal Messages, not on a forum.

You think I don't know. Well, maybe you're wrong. Maybe I'm wrong.

But assuming you are always right always puts you in the wrong.

Because assume just makes an ass of u and me.
