You could go away, and not return, effectively deactivating your account. IE, it's no longer active, because you're no longer active. Beyond that, we'd need a sensible reason to bother with it. I can't imagine one at the moment. You can choose to hide all of your personal info, after all, so it isn't as if it's going to lead someone to find you on the internet, and deactivating your account just prevents you from posting, it doesn't delete your posts. We don't delete posts because that would disrupt thread continuity.

You must admit, there's nothing more annoying than coming across a removed post in a thread, and there's a bunch of posts after it saying things like "Well, I disagree, because the fish wouldn't like it!" Or "I agree with you completely, it should be mauve and polka-dotted!".

Hi, I've known about your group for about 11 years though I've only just registered for this forum. I see the forum gets very little posts and I think allowing Anonymous posting would fix that.

I always hate registering on forums because it's a serious pain. At least this site didn't have a CAPTCHA, which is a visual encryption of letters so complex that only a bot can decrypt it. But the quiz questions were a bit annoying. It first asked for someone who ran the guild and so I put them all and welp failed. Another question was too open ended for the exact words it wanted. The IRC knowledge I never paid attention to despite that I've read about all of your site before joining, except probably the IRC part I skipped over as I like IRC about as much as moot does. But at least it didn't have the "wait for manual approval" and which never comes and then the account is deleted and mods don't respond that I've gotten on other boards.

The referer is a bad thing since it's about 10 characters maximum and I'd need longer to explain that I've known about your group since before this website existed, back when ANKA had this guide on a website done in Web 1.0 style complete with midis playing (which is Web 1.0 style).
