Question

Does seeking virtue as defined as some kind of excellence in following morals ethics, and conscience increase psionic output?

I don't think that it does. You probably know that morals and ethics are those "rules" which exist for everyone but are not quite same.

Or maybe it does: If you really want to do something (either good or bad, doesn't change a thing), it's your willpower that makes it happen. The more you use it the better output.

Is this what you meant?

question continues

I can see how willpower applies to virtue as well as psionics.

An example from ethics that ethical excellence is attained because of the utility value of ethics makes an ethically excellent business have a competitive advantage over its peers.

Would ethical excellence make a person more have a competitive advantage in psionics over the peers of that person?

If you're asking if you'll advance in more fast pace if you're a better person, etc., the answer is probably no. Of course in this case we could start dicussing about the belief system. The stronger you believe in something, the stronger are the effects from it. If you believe in psionics, you can do better constructs or something else. If you believe something, it'll and/or can manifest itself.

Depends on the perception of that individual and their peers, and also how their perceptions meshed or conflicted with each other. In my opinion.

Certainly personal motivation has an effect.

By following certain moral or ethical guidelines you limit the areas in which you can conduct psionic research. This would literally decrease your psionic output.

Did you have any specific examples in mind, of moral and ethical guidelines that would decrease psionic output? Reason I'm asking is I can't think of any off the top of my head.

One example is that telepathic suggestion could be considered unethical and could therefore prevent a person from studying it.

Guided Discussion On Ethics – by 1000BlankWhiteCards
<`1000> So, I’m going to begin by posing a classical meta-ethical question.
<`1000> What does it mean to call something good?

I define good as that which makes people and things reliable. This means inversely that evil is that which makes people and things unreliable. If by following such an ethical code my psionic abilities become more reliable to me than the psionic abilities are to others.

Wouldn't that give me a competitive edge in development without limiting me?
